The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has implemented mandatory registration for Unmanned Aircraft (UA) from 2 January 2020.
- Any UA, such as a drone, with a total weight of above 250 grams must be registered before you fly.
- Registrants must be at least 16 years old at registration.
- From 2 April 2020, it will be an offence to operate an unregistered UA in Singapore.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has announced the launch of the Unmanned Aircraft Basic Training Certificate (UABTC) and Unmanned Aircraft Pilot Licence (UAPL).
As of 1st February 2021,
- UABTC will be required if UA pilots are flying for recreational or educational purposes with UA weight more than 1.5 kg but not exceeding 7kg. Please click here for more information.
- UAPL will be required if UA pilots are flying for (i) Recreational or educational purpose with UA weight exceeding 7kg; or (ii) Commercial purpose (non-recreational or non-educational) regardless of the UA weight. Please click here for more information.
